Candles, eco-friendly and still smell amazing...?
...the answer is YES!
Are you tired of burning candles that leave you feeling guilty about their impact on the environment? Do you want to fill your space with the soothing scent of candles without compromising your values? Look no further! It's time to explore the world of eco-friendly candles that prioritise sustainability and quality ingredients.
Why Should You Care About Eco-Friendly Brands?
When it comes to candles, not all brands are created equal. Some candles are loaded with additives and synthetic fragrances that can be harmful to both your health and the environment. By choosing eco-friendly brands, you can enjoy the calming ambiance of candles without the guilt. Plus, these candles often burn longer and cleaner, making them a better investment in the long run.
Quality Over Quantity
While eco-friendly candle brands may come with a slightly higher price tag, remember that you're paying for quality. These candles are made with natural, sustainable ingredients that are better for you and the planet. So, next time you're tempted to opt for a cheaper candle, think about the long-term benefits of investing in a high-quality, eco-friendly option.
Scents That Won't Break the Bank
Who says you have to sacrifice beautiful scents for the sake of sustainability? Eco-friendly candle brands offer a wide range of delightful fragrances that will fill your space with calming aromas. From fresh florals to cosy spices, there's a scent for every mood and occasion. And the best part? You can enjoy these luxurious scents at a decent price, proving that you don't have to compromise on quality for the sake of the environment.
Did you know, most candle jars aren't recyclable
It's not a well known fact, but most UK councils don't recycle glass candle jars! By their nature, candle jars need to be heat resistant to a certain degree, and therefore are heat treated, meaning they can't be recycled with normal, household glass, and actually should be disposed of in your general waste bin! This goes against everything we thought we knew about candle jars!
There are 2 ways to over come this:
1) we have found a lovely little company who provide refillable candles. They are made from lovely, environment and people friendly ingredients. Choose refillable candles for the ultimate planet friendly option, and The Refillable Candle Company do just that

2) repurpose the jars and give them a new lease of life! Re-use them as candle jars, storage or gift jars, they can be filled with all sorts, sweets, chocolates, magnets, a wish jar...the list is endless (ish!) (but be sure to clean them properly before use! see below for tips on how to do this*) Octo have some beautiful jars with lids that can be used again and again (and their candle scents are stunning!)
We are also excited to be in a trialling phase with Octo whereby we send back our used candle jars, diffuser bottles and packaging for them to reuse...watch this space...😀

So, the next time you're in the market for a new candle, do your research and seek out eco-friendly brands that align with your values. Not only will you be supporting sustainable practices, but you'll also be treating yourself to a high-quality product that enhances your space and well-being. It's a win-win situation that will leave you feeling good inside and out!
We love a candle! You can be mindful and still enjoy the things you love.
Happy candle shopping!

*How to remove residual wax from candle jars:
1) Place candle jar(s) in the freezer for about 2/3 hours. The cold air shrinks the wax, causing it to separate from the jar.
2) Once the wax is cold, use a butterknife to help further separate the wax from the glass. (be careful not to cut yourself, or flick candle wax in your eyes! Wearing glasses is advised)
3) To remove any excess wax residue, when the jar is back at room temperature, place in the microwave for about 30/60 seconds and then wipe the melted wax away with kitchen roll.
4) The labels may come off easily, if not, place the jar in a bowl of hot water so that the sticker is completely submerged. Wait about 10 minutes, and the sticker should come off.
5) Wash the jars and lids (if applicable!) with warm soapy water, dry and you’re ready to go!
